Zoo Time

We enjoyed a quick trip to the zoo today with cousins and friends to help celebrate Kora's 6th Birthday. It's always a fun activity with the kids and a great workout for the moms (pushing/pulling wagons up and down those hills while keeping track of everyone takes skill). Their favorite this time was the rhinoceros.

Summer Begins!

To kick off summer, we ran up to Bear Lake for the holiday weekend and had a great time with family. There was a little bit of sun and lots of rain, but we enjoyed ourselves either way. Having grown up on the lake we know how to take whatever comes and have fun.

This weekend included a little flooding and quick shoveling by Stef and Dad to direct the water from pooling into our lot and tents. Maggie even got in on the action once everything had dried out. We also experimented with sand-casting on the beach while playing in the rain. Being typical Utah weather, we had flash flood/hail in one moment, and warm sunshine the next. It's a good thing swimsuits work in either scenario.

Maggie & Emory

Monica just posted this great pic of the girls. We went out last weekend with friends and shared a couple of baby sitters at her house. The boys didn't settle down at all, but Maggie & Emory had no problem snuggling in and sharing Emory's twin bed. What I love about this pic is how reminiscent it is of Monica and I growing up. The only difference is I was the one sucking my thumb.

Maggie's Bun

Maggie wanted to do her own hair today and decided to go with her favorite...a ballet bun. She did a fabulous job using bobby pins, though they were located a little off the mark. Apparently it takes close to 40 to do the job.

Baseball Begins!

Ok, it's actually just T-ball, but Eli is still very excited. He jumped right in this year remembering everything he had learned. Ev and Andy are great coaches and Eli really likes learning from them. He has a strong arm and loves to throw to 1st base as quickly as he can.

Maggie's Dance Recital

Maggie had her first dance recital this weekend too (Saturday was one crazy day). Her and Hannah were front and center, and did awesome! They were excited to be on stage and danced with no hesitation. She just laughed when I told her that I had danced on that stage many times too.

Things got a little long while waiting for the finale (Samantha and I were class moms and in charge of eight 3 year olds who were more than ready for naps) - but it ended well. Maggie & Hanna got a trophy, and Grandma & Grandpa H gave them Angelina Ballerina books.

Eli's Tumbling Recital

Eli did great yesterday demonstrating all the skills he learned this year in tumbling. He loved his teacher (Mr. Dabb), and enjoyed playing with his two classmates. He was nervous during the dress rehearsal, but did great for the actual performance that night and decided the big stage was a lot of fun.

Eli's Preschool Graduation

After two and 1/2 years at Pages, Eli is now officially done with Preschool and ready to jump into Kindergarten. His part in this year's program was dancing. My favorite part of his performance was the big yawn while twirling his partner. Because he and I dance like this at home, I guess the whole experience wasn't terribly exciting.

This was a fun year for Eli because his cousin Kora was in class with him. He loved his teacher, Mrs. Hull, and got another great note from her. Maggie enjoyed most of the program and is excited to start Page's next year too.
