Tinkerbell vs. Tooth Fairy

Last week we had a great time in California visiting Disneyland, California Adventure and Universal Studios. The drive down was unfortunately during a huge snow storm (took 16 hours instead of 12), but we quickly forgot the driving ordeal once we walked through the gates to downtown Disney under blue skies in beautiful weather.

It was so fun watching Eli and Maggie experience it all for the first time (technically it was Eli's 2nd visit - but he was only 1 at the time). They had so much fun riding rides with their cousins, grandparents and aunts/uncle. Even through we had to deal with some sickness the first couple of days, everyone pulled through in the end.

One main event during the trip was Eli losing his first tooth...somewhere between Space Mountain and The Matterhorn. We couldn't find it. I wasn't sure what Tooth Fairy protocol was, but decided Tinkerbell had connections and could handle things on the tooth end. Eli said he would just write a letter and put it under his pillow with the next tooth he loses. The 2nd one will be falling out soon.

Because there were so many pictures I wanted to post for my records, I broke them down into a couple of posts you can link to here:

Princess Dinner

Our Princess Dinner was a lot of fun. I was a little worried about Maggie because she had been running a fever that day, but fortunately had a long nap and woke up ready for the event. She put her dress on and was excited to be greeted by Ariel as we entered the restaurant. While eating the main princesses arrived and visited each table. The dinner was good as well - Maggie especially enjoyed the giant white chocolate shell that came with our desert. Her and Hannah each took turns taking bites.

The Best

Eli is the best. He is always great about getting ready in the morning and helping without being asked. Usually if we're in the middle of laundry and I've left a couple baskets full needing to be folded, he's the first to get started on it (normally first thing the next morning...he just drags the baskets into his room and starts making piles. What 6 year old chooses that instead of playing with Transformers?).

This morning while I was helping Maggie, he got himself dressed and did a great job making his bed and organizing his room. Then, while I was doing her hair, he went downstairs to get some cereal - and noticed the dish washer was full of clean dishes. So, he decided to eat and put things away at the same time. Again, without being asked.

Maggie running the office

We love to visit Grandpa at work. This week Maggie got to take over for a few minutes while Dad & I did a quick car fix.
