Eli's Halloween Decorations

Eli started getting his room ready for Halloween with a few signs on the door. I think he's going for a combination of "Haunted House" and "Tower of Terror."

All About Maggie Day

Dirty Deeds take on The Dirty Dash!

We decided to try a little different race this year and experience the Dirty Dash up at Soldier Hollow. It was a blast! ...running through mud, over hay bales, through a swampy mess, over giant rope ladders, launching from rope swings, crossing balance beams, sliding down a huge inflatable slide and ending with a mud pool to cross the finish line. It was a day like no other. The warm showers at the end helped, but we still had a ton of mud on us when we got home and showered again. I will definitely be doing this again - and am hoping to talk Eli into joining me next year.

It's hard to tell in this pic - but we are covered in mud!

Happy 6th Birthday Maggie!

Maggie wanted a "jungle" birthday this year, so we went with one big party at the Kangaroo Zoo. This was her year to have a friend birthday, and it was a blast! We had the entire Zoo to ourselves and the kids loved running around, jumping on whatever looked fun (even the adults got to bounce). We made jungle masks, ate animal crackers (in addition to our cake and ice cream) and celebrated with many great family and friends.

Back to School

Eli picked an 80's look with his white jeans (he LOVES them) and Maggie went for a little 70's style (we both LOVE the boots). They had a great first day and were excited to be with friends again. Eli adjusted quickly into 2nd grade while Maggie took no time settling into the Kindergarten world. Her only complaint is the boy who chases her. Apparently there are a couple who "fell in crushes" with her. And so it begins...

Early Birthday Present - Ear Piercing!

Maggie has been so excited to get her ears pierced this year! She loved picking out her first pair of earrings (flowers with sparkles in the middle) and did not hesitate to jump into the chair to get started. However, there were a few tears once they were in - but she recovered quickly and can't wait to wear something "with dangles." We'll definitely be setting some style rules.

Here are a couple of pics from her earlier accessory addition - a bright green feather!

Piano & Ballet Lessons Begin

Maggie is so excited to finally start playing the piano like Eli (we love their teacher, Mrs. Wood) and even more excited to start her "real" ballet lessons at Clytie Adams School of Ballet.
