Incredible Woman

My cousin Ginger is being featured on the Incredible Women blog about "everyday women who make a difference." You can read her first interview here. There will be new questions each day for one week to cover the many topics Ginger has to offer. One of her coolest projects is Happy Chemo where the goal is to make "the chemotherapy experience a little more positive for the thousands of people who have to take it to survive." Love Notes

Eli and Maggie have been leaving hearts next to my bed lately. It started with the first one Eli made from scratch (he cut out the heart shape all on his own). His new way of writing "I love you" is to use a picture of the person in place of the word "you." Love it. After that one they insisted on me making a heart template they could trace, and then discovered where the markers were hidden.

GNO - Thai Food

For our "Girls Night Out" this month we had some friends teach us how to cook Thai Food. Onesa and her daughter Nantana work at a restaurant downtown, and were gracious enough to let us in on a few secrets. We learned how to cook pad thai, chicken satay, lemongrass salmon, prawns, crab wantons, peanut sauce and blue cabbage sauce. I'm normally not a fan of pad thai, but Onesa's was great! It was all a little over my head, but made perfect sense to Monica. I'll just eat at her house when she cooks it. Or, visit the restaurant and ask for Onesa - definitely more my style.

Basketball Clinics

Eli and his friend Cragun decided they wanted to check out the basketball scene. They will be going to clinics for the next couple of weeks to learn the basics and get some "court experience."

It is so funny to watch them all run back and forth just watching what happens to the ball rather than actually jumping in the game. Eli is a bit confused by the fact that part of this game allows him to take the ball from another child. And that it is ok. And that he needs to learn to do it in a "sneaky" way so he is not fouled. The irony.

Pink in Seattle

Monica and I flew up to Seattle this weekend to help friends celebrate birthdays. We always get to stay with great families while visiting (thanks McNaughtons!). Our good friend Jen is the party guru - and the genius behind the planning, decorations and favors (she even hand made the butterfly cupcakes!).

Dinner and dessert was at one of the groups favorite restaurants, Cascade Garden. After the celebration we headed downtown to 5th Avenue Theatre to see the musical version of "Legally Blonde." We were all quite the spectacle walking into the theater leaving a trail of pink feathers behind. I love Seattle!
