Back to School

We're officially back on a schedule. Maggie is going to enjoy one more year of pre-school to be extra ready for Kindergarten next year, and Eli started his first grade year. They both have great teachers and are excited to be back. Eli was a little nervous about school lunch, but was impressed with the tray because it had "pockets" for all his food. Tomorrow we'll be taking our lunch to see how the Buzz Lightyear lunch bag works. Apparently it has really cool pockets too.

Eli's Awesome Road Trip

Monica pulled a Super Mom stunt and decided to take a road trip with four children - alone. She had told Bronson and Eli about the "4-corners," and they were fascinated with the idea of being able to stand in 4 states at once. Below are some pics highlighting their adventure. For more details (and her perspective of the whirlwind 48 hours), you can check out her blog post of the trip here. Eli loved the trip. Thanks Monica!

Cherry Hill Adventure

While Eli was enjoying his road trip, I decided to take Maggie to Cherry Hill to enjoy one of the last days of summer with her cousins. All the girls had a blast together!

Eli's First Helicopter Ride!

As part of Raspberry Days, Grandpa H decided he wanted to take Eli for his first helicopter ride. I loved the idea, especially because it is the exact same way I had mine (Eli's age, with Dad, at Bear Lake). I am searching for the picture and will hopefully add it to this post soon.

Eli LOVED the ride and got to sit in the front with Grandpa and the pilot while Ivy & Anne sat with them in back. Eli said his favorite part was the "sharp turns." The flight path took them over our place (unfortunately Grandma was inside instead of on the deck watching), the lake, and the surrounding mountains. Maggie wasn't too interested - maybe next year she'll get her turn.
